HOUSTON, TX —
Richard Tyler and Jack Barry will participate in the 4th Annual Newspring Business Plan Competition. The four month event is held in conjunction with the Houston Community College Center for Entrepreneurship in Spring Branch, Texas. Both Mr Tyler and Mr Barry have participated in each of the previous three years of the competition.
In the previous competitions Mr. Barry has been the primary instructor to the participants in the educational events leading up to the competition and he has served as one of the Competition Judges in the final event. He will again perform these duties.
Mr. Tyler will serve as a Business Advisor to a team of participants in the 2012 competition. Mr. Tyler said, “I am excited to be involved once again in the Newspring Business Plan Competition. The value that the competition brings to helping individuals successfully launch an entrepreneurial business venture is significant. Newspring and Houston Community College do an outstanding job.” Mr Tyler added, “Jack Barry’s work with the participants to get them ready for the competition is amazing. His years of experience in the corporate world as well as his experiences and contacts with Venture Capitalists and Angel Investors are invaluable to everyone.”
In 2011 Mr Tyler had the privilege of having the team he advised be one of the winning teams.
Mr Tyler’s 2011 team was Human Nation. The owners are a brother and sister team, Khurum Choudry and Shazia Choudry. Mr Tyler stated, “Khurum and Shazia are a great team and it was really fun to work with them. They have a vision for what they want to achieve and were willing to do the hard work necessary to make it a reality. I am confident they will be very successful entrepreneurs.”
