BY RICHARD TYLER It’s 2014 and it is time for the seventh annual Newspring Business Plan Competition. The competition is held in partnership with the Center for Entrepreneurship at Houston Community College (HCC). I am proud to say that I have been involved with the competition from the start. For the first five years I was a Business Plan Advisor to teams competing. Last year I was a Judge in the competition finals and this year I will again be a Judge in the finals as well as a Co-Facilitator with Jack Barry. Jack does an excellent job conducting the training and the contest participants thoroughly enjoy his style as well as gain from his wealth of real world knowledge. Jack will be conducting the majority of competition training sessions however he has been gracious enough to ask me to Co-Facilitate part of the program. Recently, Sandra Louvier, the Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship at HCC was interviewed by Russ Capper, the Host of “The BusinessMakers Radio Show”. Sandra does a marvelous job discussing the Center for Entrepreneurship and explaining the partnership HCC has with Newspring. She talks about Jack and his work on the Newspring Business Plan Competition and I even get a mention.
